Bengals Behind Bars, Again!

Bengals cornerback Johnathan Joseph was arrested early Monday and charged with possession of marijuana, the ninth Cincinnati player arrested in the last nine months. That's right folks, this means in the last 13 months about 20 percent of the Cincinnati squad has been incarcerated! You may ask, "Why would a crazed Chicago Bears fan blog about the Bungles?" Well, my wife grew up in Cincy and her father agreed to forking over mad cash for Super Bowl tix if our two teams made it. Of coarse, he thought it was his year and the Bears wouldn't stand a chance. Boy, do I have a love/hate/kill relationship w/ the media...

It well could have been a championship season for those Bengals, but John Law is a bitch - haven't done the research yet, but my good buddy Mike G asserts that Cincy's football club might be the most arrested team in all of sports. What a waste of some real athletic talent over some triffling shit like weed, drunk driving and assault.

One more Bears/Bengals connection - Marvin Lewis might have gotten lax on keeping his boys in line, admitting “The biggest thing I would say to you is there’s some things probably that in the first year or so (as head coach) I wouldn’t tolerate, and I’ve become a little bit more tolerable of." Lovie and his boss Jerry Angelo are much less tolerant, but they didn't fire Tank Johnson for the guns/drugs/thugbuddy nonsense. Perhaps after the big game, Tank will be let go and seek a happy home in Cincy (if he's allowed to leave the state of Illinois)

First A Hurricane, Now Da Bears - How Do We Spin This One???

So I've been reading a lot about Saints fans at Soldier Field getting taunted after their team's loss to Da Bears. Creative taunts maybe, but definitely not classy. As much as the greatest natural disaster in US history and subsequent human tragedy fueled the profound national interest (HYPE) in the Saints football team, it's downright disgusting to use as a diss. Public behavior at sporting events is rarely the most civil, but lines are crossed when you're disrespecting the dead, and the living who are reminded of this tragedy on a daily basis.

that sux. I'm a Bears fan and am not ashamed to admit i nervously chuckled at those type o' taunts in the comfort of my own home (humor in poor taste is a guilty pleasure of mine) but agree that berating the opposing fans using a huge natural disaster/human tragedy as artillery is totally retarded. Calling Cowboy's No-Bowler Tony Romo a Homo is one thing, but insult to injury in the vein of "When the Saints go rowing home" is another...

I don't think i'd be hollering anything like that in mixed company, but I'm sticking by my team and those who really love the game - football is football, and there was a lot of effort that went into the season and that game on the part of both teams. Gotta cheer on the team for what they're paid to do: win games. On any given Sunday NFL pros are making plays, not saving cities. Booyakasha, RESPECT!

Bears fans are entirely fed up with the lack of respect from the media all season, and personally, the media is making light of the desperate situation in New Orleans and the gulf coast when they make the achievements of a sports franchise with millions of dollars at their disposal a microcosm for a city with a vast deficiency of resources. The whole nation should be rooting for New Orleans, the city. The team just isn't who the media thought they were.

And Romo IS a Homo. Go Bears.

Whoot!! They ARE Who We THOUGHT They Were!!! GO BEARS!!!

That's right: The Chicago Bears are CHAMPS, Saints are a fairytale, Manning shocks the monkey and Belichick/Brady are "classy geniuses"

THE MONSTERS ARE GOING TO MIAMI!!!!!!!!!!!
